Yes, that's easy: Just type
|
||
|
|
|
||
|
|
:!wc -w % <CARRIGE RETURN>
|
||
|
|
|
||
|
|
in command mode to get the number of words, or
|
||
|
|
|
||
|
|
:!wc % <CARRIGE RETURN>
|
||
|
|
|
||
|
|
to get the number of lines, words and characters.
|
||
|

|

:w !wc -w
|
||
|
|
^
|
||
|
|
^ this space is essential.

|

In the shell:
|
||
|

wc -w filename
|
||
